Birch Bark and Twig Mirrors
My birch bark and twig mirrors are all made one at a time by me. The twigs are most often red osier dogwood. I also use twigs from the many colored willows and small saplings found in this area of Minnesota. The birch bark comes from trees that are fallen or cut because of damage.
I use both the white birch bark and the shades of red and tan birch bark found in the inner layers. The mirrors are made on a 1/2" plywood platform with a 1/4" mirror. I make reproductions of both the 12 panel and double diamond mirrors. They are never exactly the same, but very similar.
The cabin birch bark mirrors require a lot of time and material. I will make similar birch bark mirrors and post them on my site as soon as they become available. If you are interested in one and none are available, I can email you a picture when i get one done before I post it on my site. Email me if interested.
I will be making new mirrors during the winter months. If you don't see something you like now, please check back from time to time for new birch bark mirrors. I will try to post new birch bark mirrors monthly.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you have have concerning my birch bark and twig mirrors. I'll try to send a quick response to your questions.
Birch bark and twig mirror maker Larry Wold is "retired" and lives on a lake in north central Minnesota. My first mirrors were carved mat mirrors made years ago in my frame shop in Alaska. I also make "real" and decorative bird houses and miniature twig furniture. |
